Fashion.
Tiffany was always a trend-setter, with her own unique style since toddlerhood. Even as the quiet, intelligent, terribly bullied kid in the school playground, the popular kids would copy what she did and make it their own, and spread it across the school. As an adult she finally got the recognition she deserved. In her mid teenage years, Tiffany wanted to become a graphic designer to have a job she enjoyed to fund her album, but as she went from private school Wollongong Christian Community School (now Cedars Christian College) to homeschooling to accelerate her education, she needed to complete a certificate level course to get into the diploma level course. That was the Cert IV of fashion design and production with an additional certificate in Pattern-making, which she surprised herself by excelling in. From that moment on she was exposed to the world of fashion. She temped in a fashion house and she began to start her own label and was offered an obscene amount of money as an investment sponsorship to help her along in her label, which she declined as being something she would need when it was time to expand the business, but didn’t want to risk while she was just beginning to build it.
Although life took her in a different direction through the false lure of a more secure income, Tiffany never stopped dabbling in the fashion world. Working in wardrobe and talent management for an advertising agency, costuming for community theatre, volunteering backstage in dressing models for runway events, costuming with the QUT Medieval Society, creating a stunning, hand-printed cocktail dress, printing tops as gifts for beloved friends and writing as a journalist for a university faculty fashion magazine, Tiffany always maintained her love for fashion. It wasn’t for another ten years that Tiffany would reenter the fashion industry as a designer, a tutor of basic pattern making, fashion design and fashion illustration, and fashion and style consultant. She also loves to dabble in millinery, however making fancy races-style hats requires a lot more space than a mobile artist can justify. One day she would like to get back to this, and add a new skill in jewellery construction and design to her already sizable quiver of skills and talents.
Tiffany is about to launch a new line of high-end designer summer wear, combining her love of painting fine art, bright colours, beaches, islands and tropical jungles, with exclusive, one-off hand-painted designs on primarily silks, with fine cottons, bamboos and hybrid natural materials fashioned into sarongs, convertible dresses, beach wear, street wear, cocktail dresses and beautiful gowns, with a little menswear thrown in.
